Humans intuitively build mental maps.
But the internet was developed from the perspective of a printed page.
Another 5 billion people are soon going to access the world wide web.
What will their experience be like?
I feel it will be local and extremely practical.

That’s why in 2005, I built this simple viewer for the UN Millennium Development Goals data that ingests any csv file to put it on a 3d globe.
In this case its Goal 6, Immunization Status.

Can you quickly see which country should be consulted for program advice?
Can you quickly see which programs improved significantly? Which did not?
Can you see who was doing well until war, and is recovering?

It is easy enough to group countries by GDP and then the lessons learned would be more relevant and have a stronger likelihood of being adopted.

All manner of data can be added to a globe and compared, then insights can be quickly derived, no matter the state of cultural security or literacy.
I believe the 3d globe paradigm is the User Interface (UI) of the future because nothing is more practical for real world use.

How do we get there?
Have a look at Has-Needs to understand how we will populate everyone’s personal world safely and unleash the power of sovereign data sharing.
Why Data?
To understand the power and simplicity of data, consider this NASA ENLIL product showing solar electron density and speed. Our Sun is a yellow dot.

The sun itself is dynamic and amazing though, when viewed with fresh eyes

Understanding what is relevant in a world with rapidly increasing volumes of data is not difficult anymore. Accessible tools are rising to meet the needs of the unprecedented times we are in.
It just takes imagination and empathy to weave the worlds together for practical benefit to all. I believe that begins with digital sovereignty.
Has-Needs and Personal Chains provide the platform to harness this data.
